Custom home in Canmore
This home was built on a brand new lot in downtown Canmore, but it now looks as though it’s been there forever.
Whilst the views of the Three Sisters are spectacular we think the unique interior timber package is pretty spectacular too.
All of our wood expertise was put into practice in this project in downtown Canmore. 3 huge 30ft span scissor trusses, hip and valley rafters and complex timber joinery dramatically anchor the open plan spaces.
None of the Douglas fir timber frame is structural. Rather we went on site after framing was complete and shot the layout with our Leica builder. The timberframe team cut and prepared all timbers to these dimensions. Our team worked their magic on the new Douglas fir to make it look aged. On site we installed from the bottom/interior up. Nothing needed to be recut or adjusted, it all fit perfectly, 2 days ahead of our estimated schedule.
With no building envelope penetration this downtown Canmore timberframe was not only beautiful, but an energy efficient solution for the owners.
