Banff DLT Pavilion
Banff DLT Pavilion
Most energy efficient commercial building
The Town of Banff constructed a 100% wood DLT (dowel laminated timber) Pavilion at the Banff Recreation Grounds. This accessible building has a public indoor and outdoor gathering area with washrooms and outdoor BBQ, showers and kitchenette for community events and user groups.
The DLT Pavilion is the most energy efficient commercial building in Banff National Park and is certified under the Passive House Low Energy Building standard.
The key criteria for this building was a life expectancy of 100 years!

The 2475 sqft pavilion features an innovative building envelope made up from our prefabricated Wood100® stacked DLT system with layers of wood fibre insulation. This was essential for the low energy certification. We manufactured the DLT panels with relevant pre-integrated service interfaces in our facility, which made the installation simple and less labour intensive.
The building also features a DLT bench, skylights, Douglas Fir burnt glulam beams, T&G ceiling and amazing views to the iconic Mount Rundle.
